Quest Festival 2018

Written by

This year’s Quest Festival will take place from Nov. 23 to Nov. 25 on Ba Vi Mountain, 30km outside of Hanoi.

Eschewing the typical model of one overhyped DJ playing commercial tunes, Quest is a festival-style platform for the best emerging local and South East Asian talent, combined with hand selected international acts. With a strong focus on collaboration, Quest maintains its roots as an event for electronic music lovers, while also offering an eclectic variety of music to suit all tastes, providing an experience completely unlike anything else in Vietnam.

As well as music, Quest also hosts a full schedule of workshops, street performance, circus, team games, cinema, restaurants and of course the lake and beautiful natural surrounds. This provides a plethora of choices for anyone wanting to take a break from the music.

From Humble Beginnings

Quest started in 2013 as a weekend escape; a small rave party in the forest among 250 friends who wanted to escape the city. It has since blossomed into a three-day celebration, featuring six music stages and hundreds of different acts from Vietnam and abroad. Set against the stunning backdrop of Dong Mo Lake and Ba Vi mountain, Quest Festival has been dubbed one of the most scenic festivals in the world (Amex), a top festival in Asia (Mixmag, Asian Music Weekly) and has been voted as one of the top festivals in the world by Everfest in both 2016 and 2017; Vietnam’s first ever and only entry on the list.

In 2018, Quest aims to continue its successful push to drive event tourism to Vietnam and raise Vietnam’s local music scene. The festival engages hundreds of local artists and employees during its operation, creating employment and training opportunities and a pathway for emerging artists to reach the next level, as well as stimulating tourism dollars into the local economy.
