Manchester United Wishes Vietnam Happy Tet!

Written by

Fans of Manchester United all over Vietnam can rejoice in Sir Alex Ferguson’s wish of a Happy New Year of the Buffalo.

In an attempt to reach the masses, Ferguson and UK Foreign Minister David Miliband sent their warmest via an Internet video courtesy of British Ambassador and Arsenal fan Mark Kent’s online blog.

During the message, both Miliband and Ferguson speak of bringing the United Kingdom and Vietnam together through the medium of sport. Ferguson promises to bring his team to Vietnam so “20 million fans” can meet their idols. Although, what the likes of Ronaldo, Rooney and Giggs would feel about shaking so many pairs of hands is anyone’s guess.

The message comes as part of a renewed effort by the British Embassy to promote a direct link between British and Vietnamese nationals. Other British figures having taken part in an online question and answer session via the blog include well known millionaire Theo Paphitis and footballer Curtis Davies.

Vietnamese people are encouraged to comment and respond to the message via the Ambassador’s blog at http://blogs.fco.gov.uk/roller/kent/. As of yet there have been no responses to the video recorded on Jan. 26.
